A HEAT RACE WIN MEANS ALOT TO THIS TEAM THIS YEAR!

I knew by Wednesday that my car wasnt going to be back from the frame shop in time to race, and we made the descion to just take the next two weeks off. There is no racing on the 4th of July weekend.

Tollie had his motor in, car running and all ready to go.....until the bad luck demon jumped up and bit yet another one of us. After running awhile the car would begin to build pressuer in the water system, which means one of two things, cracked block or cracked head. Tollie made the descion Saturday Morning to not risk it and took the heads off.

NOW THE BIG NEWS!!!!!
Ivan was LOANED his old car for the night by Don DeWitt, THANK YOU DON! With Tollie and myself out of commission we got to put on our pit crew hats.

Hot Laps
Ivan asked me before we left if I wanted to hot lap the car, and after not racing for 3 weeks and knowing I wasnt racing, I was all for it. In hot laps the car was perfect, I must say the car handled ALOT better than I thought it would.

Qualifying
Ivan clocked in at a 16.8

Heat Race
Ivan got up to second very quick, and was making a run o nthe leader, when with two laps to go, the 5 car was black flagged for speeding, giving Ivan the lead. Ivan would hold on to register the first win of the year for the Lucky13 Team. WTFG BUD!

Feature
In the feature Ivan looked to have a top 5 in the bag when accidental contact with the 21 car sent the 21 spinning and Ivan to the tail. After about 5 more laps Ivan heard a strange sound from the rear end and pulled in.

Congrats
Well no surprise, Johnny won the 50 laps street stock feature. What Im congratulating him on is a move he made during the race, that most drivers would have never done. With a big lead Johhny was trying to lap the 10 car, after about 5 or 6 lap battle, Johhny intentionnaly backed off and let him go. With a big lead, there was no reason to press the issue.

CONGRATS TO SCOOOTER Gary who debuted his fathers old car with a heat race win. WTG SCOTT!

Next, Matt Frazier who showed persistance pays off. He stayed with the leaders and waited for a mistake, and after Jim Woodin went to the tail, and then Chris Garrett (which I didnt see) was sent to the tail, and Josh Trammell pulled in, he inherited second, and made the move for the lead to win his third feature of the year. Nice Job Matt and Team.

I have no comment about the Late Model Feature, other than WTF.
